Dental Help by State
We are fortunate in North Carolina to have many dental professionals working to make access to dental health care available in the state. The NC Oral Health Section offers an interactive map of safety net dental clinics in the state. Safety net dental clinics are non-profit dental clinics that provide care to people with lower incomes. These clinics require proof of your income, but often provide much lower cost dentistry.

NC Missions of Mercy partners with communities to hold free dental clinics throughout the year. The schedule tab will show you where and when clinics are held.

ShelterRock is a compassionate ministry located in the mountains of North Carolina. ShelterRock provides for the needs of the mountain poor. ShelterRock holds one to two dental clinics annually.

The NC Department of Health and Human Services provides a list of dentists which accept, or have accepted, Medicaid. If you receive Medicaid benefits, this is an excellent starting point to find the care you need. Due to the very low reimbursement rate paid by Medicaid, you may have some difficulty locating a dentist for adults.
As this page is built, we hope to provide NC residents the resources needed to receive the dental care they need. Please let us know of any access (free, sliding scale, Medicaid) clinics available not mentioned on this site.
