Q: What is MPACT?

A: MPACT is an acronym for More Patient Access to Care and Treatment. NC MPACT, Inc.  is a nonprofit organization, incorporated in North Carolina, dedicated to helping people get the dental care and education they need independent of their ability to pay for such services. MPACT also provides resources and support for dental professionals and others that want to make a difference.

Q: Does MPACT provide free dental work?

A: At this time, MPACT serves as an advocate and provides resources for patients in need and those that want to help. Plans are in development to create free and sliding scale clinics throughout the United States. You may find information on NC free clinics here. If you are outside of NC, use the contact page to get assistance.

Q: Can MPACT help me get the dentistry I need?

A: Absolutely! We can also help you get the dental work you want. MPACT has a step-by-step process by which those in need are guided to oral health. MPACT volunteers stand by your side to give you personal guidance and advocate for you as you achieve your goals. You can seek the assistance of a volunteer or get started on your own by going to the If You Need Help Page.

Q: Does MPACT only help people in North Carolina?

A: No. MPACT provides resources for all people in the US, but is very limited in other nations. Since MPACT is based in North Carolina, resources and opportunities are greater in this state.

Q: Does MPACT believe charity will solve our problems?

A: No. MPACT knows that a complex problem requires a multi-faceted solution. Charity a small part of the solution, but there are many successful strategies.

Q: Does MPACT believe that health and dental professionals should sacrifice financial success for the cause of greater access to care?

A: Absolutely not. There are many successful strategies that are also financially lucrative. MPACT believes all healthcare professionals work hard to gain necessary education and licensure to provide care and should be treated accordingly. As well, MPACT appreciates and honors those that sacrifice financially to make life better for those in need.

Q: Does MPACT charge for the services it provides?

A: Absolutely not! MPACT helps people in need as well as healthcare and dental professionals at NO CHARGE. MPACT relies on donations, but does not encourage giving out of obligation whatsoever.

Q: Are donations to MPACT tax deductable?

A: No. At this time MPACT is pending 501(c)(3) designation by the Internal Revenue Service. Assuming designation this year, all donation would then become deductable. MPACT will make financial records available to anyone interested and lets donors know what their contribution specifically supports.
